Incorporated in 1947, and still public

The corporation was incorporated in 1947 to acquire, develop and operate extensive plantations of tropical crops. Few Cameroonian companies can claim continuous operation since then, and fewer still in the same trade.

What changed is the scale. What did not is the nature of the business: a public company, its capital held by the state, its plantations where they have always been, in the Littoral and the South West.

That continuity has a practical consequence. A rubber plantation takes about six years to produce, an oil palm longer. A company planting for the decade after next cannot be run by the quarter.
